Choosing Who I Want to Be

A couple of weeks ago I decided to use my freedom as an unemployed adult to drive to Utah and spend some time with the folks that I really love up there. This is Jenna! She is the reason this blog still gets updated, and was the first person I met up with. A few thoughts about the trip: Driving about 25 hours all by yourself in the matter of just a few days gives you way  too much time for self reflection. Northern Arizona and a lot of Utah are both exceptionally beautiful. There's just something different in the air in Provo. I had a bunch of flashbacks to the MTC, and I couldn't shake the nostalgia while I was there. I couldn't decide if that was good or bad. I have the greatest friends ever. Panguitch, Utah doesn't have McDonald's, but it has  gorgeous sunsets and creepy motels . Anyway, the thing that has been on my mind ever since the trip was a quote I heard on a podcast while I was driving the stretch of I-15 between Provo and Beaver (I lov...

I blogged in preparation for my trip to Utah a few times. Now that it's over, I guess I'll blog about all of the fun we had up there! It started on Thursday morning. I flew from Tucson to Vegas. I waited there for not quite 2 hours. I got pretty bored, so I took to walking around the airport on the moving sidewalks. Those things are my favorite! And can I just say that you should never stop walking on a moving sidewalk. You are moving slower by standing on the moving sidewalk than normal walking! I guess I was busy reading my book, because I didn't really realize that we waited around on the tarmac for so long until we were finally taking off. We taxied into position and out my window were 4 planes behind us, all waiting their turn to take off! In the end it was only an extra 30 minutes or so, and we didn't arrive very late in Salt Lake. ...

This is old news, but I felt like the world would like to know about my little vacation at the beginning of the month. Hank and I jumped on a plane to head to the good old SLC. We went to Utah to go to General Conference and embark on various other adventures. We had tickets to three sessions (THREE!), so we were pretty stoked. We got in on a Friday (Oct 1st), and drove on down to Provo. We met up with Kelsey and had a grand time at Olive Garden. We're hilarious , if you didn't already know. That dinner just confirmed it. Ha ha. On Saturday we ran up to Conference in the morning. We took Kels and gave away our extra ticket. Conference was brilliant, as always, and it was fantastic to hear the good words. Being in the Conference Center makes it all the better. Later, Kelsey went to the afternoon session and we hung out for a while. After an afternoon in downtown Salt Lake, a trip to Deseret Book, driving through the hills overlooking the city, looking at the Salt Lake T...
