ACCORDING TO ZAC

Well, it took me long enough, but I finally took a picture of my long board all done. I took pictures when I had painted the orange accent and clear coated, but never once it was complete. The orange isn't perfect, but I still fall in love every time I look at it. [This was my original drawing. If I ever become a designer (ha ha, good one), argyle will be part of my logo.] Prepping for clear coat. Clear coat. Voila! :) This is happy Zac. He always comes around when the long board makes an appearance.

One time I bought a long board. It came blank on the bottom, and I knew that I wanted to take on this art project in addition to learning how to ride. I'd settled on an argyle design a long time ago, and set out to create a template. I did, and it took forever, and wasn't a very fun process. But, I knew it'd be so much cooler to have a painted long board than a straight up plain board. I opened it up, and it looked like this: And then it got put together and looked like this: After I drew up the template to scale on a piece of cardboard, I practiced some on some pieces of spare wood. Heaven knows, I didn't want to mess up my board on the first try. Well, yesterday I set out all of my things in preparation for painting. Then, I painted on the diamonds with a little black over spray to make it look a little less sterile and boring. I left it overnight to dry completely.
