Boo. I had forgotten how nasty summer can be because of how nice winter and spring are here. What's most stupid about this whole forgetting thing is that I've lived here my whole life! What does not make this better is the fact that U2's annual lake trip was cancelled. My heart still hurts for that one. But what can you do besides do your best to keep cool and get a good tan? Some things a just beyond your control.

I won't lie, it's not even July yet but I'm pretty certain that this year is going to be the best birthday week ever. And no, that is in no way a reference to the fact that I will be able to legally drink...

Fun Sucker

Summer school ruins lives. Finals are exciting, because that means summer is around the corner, but then you're bamboozled by the blasted class you have that starts the following week! Gah. At least its only three weeks long. [p.s. name the movie from my title!!!]

UPDATE: I found my camera cord! This is happy, because I have a few things to share. The Weigels were kind enough to have me over on Mother's Day for dinner, because my own mother was in Mexico soaking up the sun before her surgery the following week (everything went really well, by the way!). So, as a token of my appreciation, I took them a little gift in the form of green and yellow spider mums! Also, who'd have thought something like this: Would make stuff like this:

Success Story

One time, I got an award for my good grades from the J-school. And another time, I came in second place in a writing competition sponsored by the J-school. I got an email a few weeks ago about attending this thing called Just Desserts (turns out they only serve desserts at this thing). Well, I didn't think much about it until later when I got a second email about it, and my friend Brenna talked to me about. Turns out, it's a special event for journalism students that have been nominated and/or won things all throughout the year. Well, I assumed that I would be recognized for the previously mentioned writing competition. And I was. And that was nice. But, I also received a Certificate of Merit , and I don't even know what I did! I think my favorite professor must have nominated me. They handed out about 15 of these certificates, but I was still very shocked and flattered to have received an award unexpectedly. My buddy Kristina also got that award. Yay! Brenna won a ...

There's this show called White Collar that Sarah got me to watch. It's freaking amazing because it's suspenseful and witty and it just makes you want to be friends with these guys. Here's why I love it: Neal: Is it the crying? Peter: Yeah. I can handle everything else but women crying, that's all. I don't know what to do with it, I try to fix it. I mean, with you, I'd give you a slug on the shoulder and tell you to cowboy-up! Bahaha. Also, I wish I had Matthew Bomer's hair. But that's beside the point.
