Incidental Lessons From Sugar

Cheryl Strayed  is a writer and generally interesting human being from what I've been able to glean from the little I know about her. She wrote a memoir called Wild  that was then adapted into a major motion picture starring everybody's sweetheart, Reese Witherspoon. Though I haven't read her memoir, I have read synopses of her memoir (and accompanying film). She has led an interesting life, full of passion, struggle, despair and joy, among many other things. One thing she has had to deal with is losing her mother. Cheryl was in her 20s, if I remember correctly, and her mother was only 45. It was a crushing blow to her. Now, many years later, she has compiled a series of her most insightful tidbits about life when she was working as an anonymous advice columnist named Sugar. Good Intentions, Terrible Delivery

I've been feeling a little bit lonely lately, which I will openly admit is kind of dumb. I have to keep telling myself a few things, including: stop being over sensitive, there are a lot of people that love you, and choose your own destiny and chase after it because it'll never fall into your lap. A summation of my current dilemma: This all became exceptionally clear to me about a month ago when a few things happened all at once. The first thing was that my ex-girlfriend moved back into my ward. She was my first (and only) real girlfriend. It was a weird breakup, and I'm still not really sure how I'm feeling about any of it. I know we were right to break up when we did, but I would be lying if I said I didn't miss a lot of things about us being together. And not just the kissing or cuddling or stupid things I think a lot of young people prioritize too highly.
